Internal Use of CASA
The latest CASA Release is available for testing and is installed at the AOC and
in CV for use by the NRAO staff and visitors. Details about the
release and user documentation (such as the Cookbook) are available at
the CASA Home Page.
Users at NRAO can access the CASA Python interface on a RHE Linux
machine by typing "casapy" (for the released version) or
"casapy-test" (for the latest test version) at the prompt.
The official Release version is available in /usr/bin on most machines.
Users who want to download a
CASA installation for use on their own Linux or Mac OSX (Intel)
computers should consult the download instructions
below.
You can also consult your local system administrator
or helpdesk to have CASA installed on your machine.
See also the general information about the Release

User Support for internal NRAO CASA Users
-
The primary references for user help are the
CASA Data Analysis Cookbook and the
CASA Reference Manual.
-
In addition to the
documentation for the release
version there is also some documentation for the
active development version of casa (e.g. if you are using
one of the casapy-test or active versions:
-
NRAO sites have local CASA User Support contacts:
AOC users should contact
Gustaaf van Moorsel (gvanmoor) for questions or
help.
Charlottesville, the NAASC, and Green Bank users
should contact Crystal Brogan (cbrogan)
Users in Chile
should contact Joe McMullin (jmcmulli) for help.
You can also contact the CASA Project
Scientist, Steve Myers (smyers) directly if your local
CASA contact is not available. But he will probably be surly.
-
For internal NRAO and ALMA/EVLA project users, CASA uses
JIRA as its issue tracking
system. Registered NRAO JIRA users can submit issues and maintain
contact with CASA until resolution.
-
External users are encouraged to register with the NRAO
Interactive Services portal
my.nrao.edu. There,
registered users can access the CASA HelpDesk.
Internal users can access this also (assuming they have a NIS
login), if for some reason you do
not want to use one of the above methods (or you are asked to
by your local rep).
