sdaverager.setalignment - Function

Package dish
Module dish
Tool sdaverager

Set the alignment option.

Synopsis
setalignment(option)

Arguments

option   The alignment option
    Allowed: 'NONE','VELOCITY'

Returns
boolean

Description
This function sets how the spectra are aligned during the averaging. If this is set to NONE there is no alignment. Channels are added in the order they occur starting with the first channel and proceding until there are no more channels. If the alignment options is VELOCITY then averaging is done after first aligning the data in by velocity. The first scan in the average determines the velocity definition and reference frame to use throughout the average. Subsequent scans first have their x-axes converted to velocity using that definition and reference frame. If the fractional channel alignment is > 0.01 channels then a fourier transform is used to do that portion of the alignment. Velocity alignment always happens after any rest frequency adjustment indicated by the restshiftstate.
